I have been reading Spoken For for three days now, and I am absolutely loving it. I think it is a book that every girl and woman needs to read. I am SO thankful that I was chosen to pre read this before it comes out.
Here's my recap of the chapters so far. I loved the first two chapters, but the third one is my absolute favorite so far.
Chapter one was like a "here's a little bit of what the book is about" type of chapter.
Chapter two was about realizing that you are wanted. Realizing that God wants you even when you don't think anyone else wants you. Both Robin and Alyssa told stories of how at one point in time they felt like they weren't wanted. Robin's story really touched me. Not that Alyssa's didn't, but I really loved Robins. She told the story about how she was engaged, but her fiance broke it off because he felt like she had "unrealistic expectations. My heat hurt for her as she was telling the story. Honestly, I wanted to take the guy down. I mean who wouldn't want someone who prayed for the relationship and wrote letters to her future husband?! I went away with the feeling that even when I feel like no one else wants me, there is a God that wants me that much more, and he there isn't anything he won't do to to make you feel wanted.
Chapter three (which is what I read today) really REALLY touched me. It was about God pursuing you. I could mentally see that I was being pursued by God. I was able to in my mind see this picture of a girl running away from a guy who wants to love her and cherish her. As the guy kept running toward her, she would run that much further from him. When the girl finally got too tired of running, the guy was able to catch up with her, and draw her into his loving embrace, and her finally realize that the guy wanted nothing more than to love her. Silly picture, but that is what I thought of. I can really see how that would apply to us at Christians. We as sinners are running away from a God, who all he wants to do is draw us into his loving embrace and to tell us over and over that it is going to be okay. It is such a wonderful chapter!!
Along with our books we received sheets that had verses about what God says about you. It was a list of 41 different verses. Each day, I have created a little reminder picture that I have posted on facebook, twitter, and instagram that you can make as your wallpaper on your phone and different things like that! I really loved making them, and actually another one of the ladies in the group has started making them with quotes from the book that she thinks will be encouraging! I really love this group because they share what they think will encourage others. It has really been encouraging to be in this group!!
Here are the two that I have already made! Each day, I will try and post the one that I made for that day! :)
This one was for the first day.
This picture was made by one of the girls in the group!
Made by the same girl that made the one above. She is very talented!
This was today's verse.
If you noticed, there are hashtags on three of these pictures. We are trying to get the hashtag #WhatGodSaysAboutYou & #Spokenfor trending on facebook and twitter, and we also want it to become an instagram hashtag. If you would like to repost, hashtag the above hashtags so we can get the word out about the book and What God Says About You!! :) You can make these pictures your wallpapers, your screen saver really anything where you look at it daily and you can see those truths about you!! :)
xoxo,<3 Katelyn
