This weekend was a whirlwind, and I really can't believe it is over. We had planned those two days for what seemed like forever, and to think that it's over is hard. I got to know some really great people during the last few months, and I was really glad that I got to work with them.
Saturday was the kick off day. We had upwards of 700 people. My job was to direct the buses that brought the people from where they parked. I had to make sure that the bus lane was open, and people weren't in the driveway when they buses came up. I really just helped in any way that I could! Thankfully everything went smoothly, and I couldn't be happier. I was able to go watch one of the battles that day. We had vendors, living history, dance classes, carriages, re-enactors, and horses everywhere!
Sunday was the last day. We had probably close to the same number of people from Saturday. The weather for both days was good! It was overcast both days, but it made it not that hot for everyone. It didn't rain while people where there so that was a really good thing! All in all, I think it was a great weekend!
Now for the pictures! These are all edited, and some of them looked like they were taken in the Civil War!
The Clydesdale's that lead the parade of carriages. They were so pretty!
The rainbow by the barn before the dance on Saturday. It was SO pretty!
I love how the hay is in focus and the dance isn't. This was our Civil War Era Dance for the re-enactor's or people involved with the re-enactment! I think everyone had a really great time.
Two of the lovely ladies that came this weekend. They were listening to the church service, and I just loved this picture!
Selfies with Mr. Lincoln are always acceptable.
One of our re-enactor's with his gorgeous horse! Such a beautiful animal.
Some of our carriage riders watching the Bull Rushes playing the harmonicas.
Someone captioned this as "Literally looks like a step back in time" and it really does!
I really like the look of this one. Perfect backdrop with the farm house in the background.
Our re-enactor's listening to the Civil War church service.
The one battle that I was able to watch!
Fried Oreos are a must whenever they are offered!
