We have been waiting for you! Well atleast I have! This is the year I will graduate, start college, learn to live life on my own, you know all those "grown up" things that happen when you go to college. I don't think that it has really hit me that by this time next year I will have finished my first semester at LU, and I will be getting ready to start my second semester of my first year. I am praying that everything will go according to plan, and that I will be in college in the fall.. Please continue in prayer with me about college, and me following God's will and plan for my life. I just want to live my life according to his will.
I did have a HUGE blessing happen to me this past week. I received word that I had won a $16,000 scholarship to LU. I entered a contest about a month ago to win this scholarship, and when I didn't hear from them in the next few days I figured I hadn't won. I got the call on Thursday that I had indeed won! WOW!! What a great way to start the new year huh! I was pretty shocked, and I think it is a day and a call that I will NEVER forget! I didn't cry on the phone with the guy, but when I got off the phone with him, and told my mom, we both broke down in tears! Happy tears, joyful tears, thankful tears. I was in the middle of doing my makeup, but I really didn't care! I could redo my makeup!!! This scholarship is going to really be very helpful. I am making the tuition more and more reasonable and that couldn't make me any happier!! I know that God wants me at Liberty. He has made it so clear, I'm pretty sure that I could see it even if I wasn't looking for it! God has a plan for me at Liberty, and I couldn't be more excited about finding out what it is! Y'all I am so excited!!!
At the end of last year, I was given a journal by my awesome Sunday School teacher. (Thanks Amber!!) We spent the class time writing and sharing, sharing and writing our blessings of 2013 and our goals for 2014. I had goals and blessings, but I took that class time and have integrated it into my own daily time. I have started writing whatever blessing that I received, shared in, and experienced that day and write it all down. I want to see what God is doing for me, and be able to look back at the end of 2014 and see how God has blessed me. I also do the same thing for goals. I write down two different goals that I would like to see myself accomplish this year. I know without a doubt that I won't do everything on that list, but I would like to do atleast 75% of the stuff on my list. I don't put outrageous things like climb Mount Everest, but I do put things that are practical like: learn how to make outfits from the clothes I already have or try to love more. Things that I think I can accomplish. I love being able to reflect on what has happened that day! It keeps my gratitude in check. This is like my "New Year's Resolutions Not Really" if you understand what I'm saying!!
I hope that you all might take this idea and apply it to your own lives. I really hadn't thought about it until that morning in SS, so I'm not going to take any credit for it!
My motto for the year is: "2014, you're going to be GREAT!"
xoxo,<3 Katelyn
