Convocation

On Wednesday, a few of my friends and I got the chance to go hear Bethany Hamilton speak in person at Liberty University. Of course we went early, and we got GREAT seats! I was soo excited! Not only to hear her speak, but to also hear the campus band, and just get to be in the convo atmosphere! It was really awesome, and I hope that there will be plenty of convo's in my future!! I really, really enjoyed every part of it! After convo, we went and grabbed a bite to eat. We ate at Cookout, which is a really cheap fast food restaurant. Now don't let the "really cheap" part turn you off, because their food is really good! You also get A LOT of food for the price! I got a hamburger, fries, hush puppies, and a huge tea. (VERY large sweet sweet tea! Like knock your socks off sweet! My kinda tea!) It was all I could do to eat all my food!

After convo and cookout, we found out that she was going to be speaking again, and that it was open to the public. Or so we thought. Turns out it was only for students, and that we couldn't get in to hear her speak. We were kinda bummed, but not bummed that bad, because we had already gotten to hear her once. We did however go over to the visitor center to get some more info on the college for a friend who is looking into Liberty for post grad. The visitor center was beautiful. It had a GREAT view of the mountains! There was a porch that had rocking chairs, and it had columns, that made for really great pictures! We took some group pictures, and then some model status pictures (as I liked to call them!) After going inside, we got some really good pictures on the inside of the visitor center.

After the visitor center, we went to the bookstore, and that is where Harleigh and I bought matching t-shirts to wear to this weekend's homecoming Liberty football game! Beat Coastal! I still love all you coastal fans, and hope you will still read the blog! ;) We just looked around the bookstore, and didn't leave campus til about 3:30-3:45! It was really a great time had by all! A LOT of girl talk, and a lot of picture taking! Just how I wanted to spend my Wednesday!! :)

Mrs. Bethany Hamilton herself! It was pretty awesome!!
