Argumentative Essay on Abortion

This is a paper that I had to write for school! At first I didn't think it would turn out very good, but I really like the way that it turned out! Please let me know what you think of it!

Abortion any way you look at it is wrong. Yes, women have the right to their body, but she DOES NOT have the right to harm another human being. Some may say, "Well that isn't a human being inside of that woman." That is a human being. The Bible says in Psalms 139:14 "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well." This verse is saying that the child living inside of that woman is fearfully and wonderfully made.  

One reason why abortion is wrong is that you are murdering that human being inside of you. People believe that, the baby isn't a person until he is born. That is wrong. That little baby living inside of you became a person at the moment of conception. The Bible says that "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations." He has every right to life that you have. If you take away that right, you are sinning. That little baby is innocent, and hasn’t done anything to you to make you want to abort that baby's life. Aborting a pregnancy is wrong. Some may say, well I have rights. What about that baby's rights?! What about that baby's chance to be something great for God?! Do you want to take that away from him, before he is given a fighting chance?

Another reason abortion is wrong is that you are taking away another person's chance for happiness. If you find yourself with an unwanted pregnancy, don’t abort it because you don’t know of anything else to do with it. There are a great number of couples out there that can't conceive. That woman doesn’t have the chance of a lifetime that the woman aborting that pregnancy. For whatever reason, she can't have a baby, and so adopting that woman's baby that she was going to abort, would mean the world to her. She will be able to love that baby. Ultimately, it is a win-win scenario for everyone. A mother will get to love that baby, and the woman that was going to abort, will get a loving home for the child that she didn't want.

The last reason why I think abortion is wrong is because that life that you were thinking about aborting is a person that God loves and wants to use in a mighty way. God loves that human being. God LOVES him or her. He wants to love you too if you will let him. Maybe you don’t know that what you were getting ready to do was wrong. Abortion is sin. God is ready to forgive the sinner. Maybe you don't know that Jesus loves you, because you haven’t accepted him as your personal Lord and Savior. You are a sinner, and you just don’t know any other way. Well that is okay, because God is here to love and forgive you, the sinner, if you will let him.

Yes, abortion is wrong on so many levels, but abortion can be forgiven. Abortion is murdering a human life, but doesn’t God forgive the murderer too?! He is ready to forgive you if you have had an abortion, or have committed any other sin. If you are thinking about have an abortion preformed, please stop and think of your options. You have so many. You could love that baby, adoption, and so many other avenues to bypass abortion. Please think, not about your life, but about the other life that you are carrying inside of you.
